YOU WANT GOD IN YOUR LIFE, JUST NOT ANY ORGANIZED RELIGION –THAT IS WHAT MAKES YOU PULL BACK. IF YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD EXPERIENCE GOD’S LOVE AND FORGIVENESS AND FORGET RELIGION, YOU’D BE FINE.

YOU WANT THE ALMIGHTY’S LOVE AND FORGIVENESS, BUT YOU FEEL SUCH A STRONG PULLING THE OTHER DIRECTION –TOWARD WRONG DOING, THAT YOU ARE CONCERNED. YOU ARE THE TYPE OF PERSON THAT IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO IT, YOU ARE GOING TO DO IT RIGHT! YOU DON’T WANT TO BE A HYPOCRITE! THEREFORE, SINCE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU MIGHT BECOME A HYPOCRITE YOU CHOOSE NOT TO DO IT –AT LEAST NOT AT THIS TIME. MAYBE LATER ON.
Now, in order for the GOD DOCTOR to work with you, YOU MUST GET “OFF THE FENCE” so to speak, on this particular matter. It if VERY frustrating to be “a little bit pregnant” I know, because I was ACTUALLY there one time. LET ME EXPLAIN. My prayer for you it that this ILLUSTRATION will help you understand where you stand on QUESTION #1.

I WAS pregnant. I had just gotten to the end of my first trimester (about the 12th week). We had heard the heart beating, so even though we had not felt our child move yet, we KNEW THAT WE KNEW she was there!
NOW YOU HAVE HER!
Then, I did it. You know, one of those things the old ladies warn you about and tell you not to do. Well, I guess I should tell the truth: I did two! I climbed all over the top of a truck load of furniture pushing and shoving and cramming stuff in every extra space (we were moving in a grain truck from one place in the Panhandle of Oklahoma to another place 60 miles away).Then a hail storm chased us all the way and we had to quickly throw the load in the house. I am strong so I helped to lift the heavy things and quickly put them inside. YEAH, we beat the hail storm –which, by the way, passed us anyway.
We drove 60 miles back for the next load, which I helped direct how it was loaded as well. Then I stayed to clean the floors and see about a few scattered things that remained when, it happened: the OH NO THING that pregnant mothers who are NOT DUE YET never want to happen. I started spotting.
I called the doctor. He said: “GET HORIZONTAL, NOW!” So, I minded and put my feet up. I had no furniture of any kind to stretch out on mind you, so I used my floor. The office was closed, and I was just BARELY SPOTTING so, we waited until the morning to see the doctor.
There was no heart beat this time; however, the ultra sound showed she was in there. The doctor said to us basically:
“YOU HAVE HER!”
We sighed with a big sigh of relief, to which our kind doctor stated a warning that we may not keep her. Once bleeding starts, our doctor explained, it often continues. So he would not allow me to move with my household 60 miles away, I had to REMAIN FLAT and remain in town:
“NOW YOU DON’T!”
As the evening continued, the bleeding continued. I stayed down. Eventually, the trickle became a flood! The clots even cramped like little mini babies. Finally, I was up all night one night on the toilet dizzy. I figured my child was flushed!
“NOW YOU DON’T!”
I was weakened the next time our physician saw us. There was no heart beat this time, and the ultra sound showed she was not in there. The doctor said to us basically:“NOW YOU DON’T”
Then he said that to be sure, we needed to run a pregnancy test. So they drew the blood and we waited for the test results that would surely confirm we had lost our baby. Meantime, we began to grieve:“NOW YOU DON’T”
When the doctor next contacted us he said I needed to come back in and be reexamined. The blood test turned out to be boarder-line. They repeated the check for the heartbeat. No heart beat. They repeated the ultra sound, and this time it was questionable:“YOU HAVE HER!”
So they drew they drew blood again for another pregnancy test. At this point we didn’t know whether to grieve or hope! We were, as you can well expect, just numb.Again we were summoned to the doctor’s office for the results and yet another exam. The pregnancy test was: POSITIVE!
“YOU HAVE HER!”
So since the bleeding had slowed down to a small trickle again, he FINALLY allowed me to move “home” but, I had to remain flat, except to go the a close potty. “ONLY TIME WILL TELL,” was the kind, and very good physician’s answer. Days turned into longer days as the bleeding slowed and slowed, but when I moved or got up the bleeding tended to start again. I tried SO HARD to behave, and it seemed at one point that we would keep her; but, the bleeding started in again and then a huge well-developed clump came out once when I stood. It looked encapsulated. I held my child in my hands, I just knew it. I wouldn’t let go of her, or put her down.
“YOU HAVE HER!”
I said to myself, as I held her close and felt her warmth and talked to her all the way back to the hospital for the entire 60 mile drive. I thought to myself, this is all I’m going to get to hold you and talk to you my SELAH –that’s what we named her. Poor Dan, while I was lying in the back seat of our Mercedes singing and talking to a big bloody looking clump; he was going at least 90 miles an hour with the flashers on!“NOW YOU DON’T”
When we arrived at ER, the kind, and very good physician’s answer was that best he could tell, that was the baby. He took her to examine her to make sure. He was gone a long time, and came back stating that he was unable to locate the baby inside the clot.“YOU HAVE HER!”
Then he said that, he felt pretty sure it was anyway; but, to be sure, we would need to send “her” to the lab, and we needed to run a pregnancy test. So they drew the blood and we waited for the test results that would surely confirm we had lost our baby. Meantime, we began the grieving process again; or, at least, I can say I did. I just had a since this time that I lost her.“NOW YOU DON’T!”
Eventually, the tests all returned, and the kind physician, who was also our personal friend, confirmed that the problem was “Placenta Previa”. The blood supply for the baby implanted over the opening of my womb –which occurs in 2% of all pregnancies. So if carried to full-term you risk death of both the baby and the mother again. The warm clump I had cradled and talked to was our baby, and I was no longer pregnant.“NOW YOU DON’T!”
Through all the back and forth emotions, there were several things held me steady:

- My Trust in my husband’s love:
We had already been through many trials and tribulations in our marriage, such that I knew his loving watch care over me and our children ran deep! I could count on him to do what was best. - My trust in the love of our neighbors and friends and family:
I never worried about the care of our first born child, I always knew she was in kind and loving hands, even though for many weeks she was away from me. - My trust in the prayers for us by the believers that cared about our circumstances:
There is nothing like feeling the security that other believers are standing with you in prayer! THE FERVENT PRAYERS OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN "AVAILETH" [bring forth to fruition] MUCH! - My trust in the love and sovereignty of my Heavenly Father:
Through all the emotional turmoil I knew my Heavenly Father loved me and mine (ROMANS 8: 24 to the end of the chapter) and would accomplish His best will for our lives. If I kept the child, wonderful. If she went on to be with the LORD, I knew, like KING DAVID, that even though she could not return to me, one day, I would go and see our SELAH again. So, you see, in the end, I could truly say:
most caring --I’ve seen him make house calls,
most knowledgeable –he caught things nobody hardly catches in time!
most skilled –he could scope someone, operated, deliver babies, handle crazy illnesses and crazy patients, he could do whatever it took
most personable –he often came out and fixed my car too!
most reasonable about the cost –he wasn’t in it for the money
Hands down he is absolutely the best family practice physician I have ever known!

I have shared this very moving and personal ILLUSTRATION to let you know that this NOT BEING SURE, is an uncomfortable precarious position. You need to do whatever you can to work through this and find a solution.
